FLEEING SUSPECT APPREHENDED
On June 9, 2021 at approximately 10:42 P. M., Phillip Eugene Lassiter fled from Law Enforcement Officers while operating a red 2006 Ford Five Hundred sedan, while on New Hinson Road in Geneva County. Lassiter failed to yield to Law Enforcement Officers while instructed to do so by means of initiated emergency blue lights and audible siren. A pursuit was initiated. Lassiter fled into Holmes County Florida on Kirkland Road, where he struck the patrol vehicle of Investigator Dean causing damage to the patrol vehicle. Lassiter was pinned in a ditch by means of positioning patrol cars where he could not continue fleeing. At that time Lassiter was able to be taken into custody by Law Enforcement Officers, the vehicle and scene was turned over to Holmes County Deputies. Holmes County conducted a search of the vehicle and illegal narcotics, multiple items of drug paraphernalia and handgun magazines were recovered. Phillip Lassiter was taken into custody and booked into the Holmes County Jail. Warrants are being obtained and a hold will be placed on Phillip E. Lassiter by the Geneva County Sheriffs Office.
