On June 30th at approximately 12:34 A.M. TFO/Deputy Cory Dean conducted a traffic stop on south County Rd. 49 in Malvern, Al. During the course of the stop Deputy Williams and K9 Dazy arrived at the scene with TFO Dean and did a free air search around the vehicle driven by Derek James Dearman. K9 Dazy alerted on the vehicle for the presence of illegal narcotics. Dearman was removed from the vehicle and when searched three bags of methamphetamine was retrieved from his pants. The bags of methamphetamine weighed at 68 grams. Dearman was arrested and charged with Trafficking Controlled Substance.
