On 22 September 2022 at approximately 8:55 pm a report of a structure fire at 5205 State Highway 153 (near County Road 10 in the Flat Creek area) was received at the Geneva County Dispatch Center.

The report stated that the house was "fully Involved". The house was not occupied at the time of the fire. Samson Fire Department responded to the incident and battled the fire.
